Studio: #412B phone: 860-964-6188 sunil@sunilhowlader.com http://www.sunilhowlader.com/ My style combines the beauty of naturalistic representation with the expressive elements of abstraction. Often times a single painting may transition between the realms of representation and abstraction. I like this style, Semi-abstract Expressionism, because it gives me the freedom to add emotions, feelings and ideas to what I see. I express these with meaningful lines, forms and colors. I use bold strokes, dabbles and scribbles to represent the emotional activities of the psyche. My paintings of nature contain much symbolism, with water-lilies symbolizing beauty, fish representing abundance, and horses (destination series) for our struggle to achieve conscious or unconscious goals. Sunil is an international award winning artist. Some of his awards include: The”The Ralph Fabri Medal” The Salmagundi club,NY,USA, (2012 ), The “CAFA Painting Awards” Connecticut Academy of Fine Arts,CT, USA. (2010),, “Honorable Mention” in Masterpiece Painting, Nagano Winter Olympic Painting Exhibition, JAPAN.
Studio: # 216 skyeschulte@gmail.com www.skyeschulte.com Phone: (617) 899-4160 Skye Kismyth Schulte has been an artist for almost 30 years, working in most art mediums from painting and sculpture, to photography and metal work, and even food and dance. Her work can be seen in homes, businesses, and galleries around the country. Skye grew up in northern Wisconsin surrounded by hobby and professional artists of all types, which helped to shape her early love of and exposure to all things artistic and theatrical. Her early experience in art and aesthetic was also profoundly affected by growing up near ancient Native America burial grounds and the Japanese botanical gardens started by her family. In addition to her artistic pursuits, Skye has always had a strong interest in science and technology, as well as environmental justice and human rights and she works as a strategy and communications consultant for innovative non-profits and other healthcare companies. Skye is also the advisory board chair for the Albert Schweitzer Fellowship—a non-profit focused on addressing health disparities by developing leaders in service. Her volunteer work and travels around the world for both work and pleasure (including trips to the Middle East, Europe, and South America) have had a significant impact on her artistic eye and world view. Skye’s approach to artistic expression—be it painting, photography, or sculpture—is to transport herself to an emotion or place and to use color, texture, and movement to then capture that essence to share with the viewer. Visitors are, in fact, encouraged to touch and smell and experience many of her works in a multisensory way—a style she calls “Sensualism.” Her goal with this style is to make art more accessible and participatory so others can find their own inner artist and have a more intimate connection to the objects they put into their spaces. Skye currently lives in Boston with her husband and two hairless dogs. Her permanent art studio is located in the South End at 450 Harrison Avenue (Studio 216) where she shows her newest work each first Friday of the month as part of the SoWA Artists Guild. She is also available during the open studio weekends, the art walks, special shows, and conducts private viewings by appointment. www.skyeschulte.com
